My brother is a boy, and he loves dolls. My cousin Eben used to love AG . . . he was into dolls all the way up through high school at least. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I think originally girls were the ones who were trained to stay at home and take care of kids, so they had dolls to sort of practice on. Boys are going to grow up into men, and potentially dads, so I don't see what the difference is nowadays. Now a lot of men stay home with the babies while the women work.
Don't worry, we'll still accept and like you!
edited: I just realized that what I wrote sounded wrong. I didn't mean that dolls are just to practice being parents on. . . .no, no. I meant that that might be where the stereotypes came from. I really don't think there is anything wrong with boys liking/collecting dolls. I actually think it would be nice for AG to introduce American Boy. The American Boy Collection. Doesn't have the same ring to it, but they could at least include a couple of brothers into the American girl collection . . .

It doesn't matter whether you're a boy or girl---anyone who likes AG is OK with me!
And don't be too sure about growing out of it soon--Taffy Cheerful is an adult, and HE still likes AG!! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Well I dont really "collect" or its not really a "hobby", I just like playing with them...
-
Thanks...I dont feel dum about it anymore...
And theres other boys on here?? Wow..
-
yes, I know there are some other guys on the board, and some we probably don't know about. You are not alone!
-
I really want some advice...My mom thinks that I should stop getting AG's and accesories and outfits..And my sister also thinks that I should stop since I'm getting older. They don't know much about AG..But what should I do?
-
You're absolutely normal. Welcome to the Hostboard!

at the very least, you can call it your investment
at times I have rationalized my collection in this way with people who don't understand AG.
My ex-fiancee, Justin, talked about buying a bunch of Jess dolls and selling them in 10 years to pay for college . . haha.

Hey, what's there not to like about AG's. The force is strong, especially with all of their accessories, not to mention that they are so cute. Who is your favorite AG? Although my son won't play with dolls, he says that if he were a girl and could pick a doll, it would definitely be Molly. Don't let them talk you out of it. You are never too old for toys. A majority of us on this board are wayyy out of college and we still buy and play with dolls. It's healthy. Maybe you ought to tell your mother that she should be grateful that you are wanting to buy AG stuff instead out vandalizing things. What dolls do you have, by the way?
It's great to see you on here!
